The name of the venue is:
上海瑞可碧橄榄球运动俱乐部 | Shanghai Rugby Football Club
The address of the festival is:
浦东新区张扬北路2700号 | NO 2700 Zhang Yang Road (North), Pudong, Shanghai
The easiest, quickest way is to take the Metro, and get off at Wuzhou Avenue (line 6), Exit 1.
Your only other option is to take a taxi (we recommend you do not drive as there is no parking available at the venue).
If you do not wish to spend your trip in Pudong, we have a number of recommended youth hostels. Explore the lovely heart of Shanghai and make new friends with people from all over the world! Our cooperative partners Blue Mountain Youth Hostel have some amazing discounts for you.
PLEASE NOTE: discounts are available exclusively at these aforementioned locations, and do not apply to other properties.
Here is a list of more accommodation options (please contact the hotels directly for enquiries):
Well friend, that depends on who you are, and whether or not you have talons, fins or a flying carpet. For earth-bound fans:
The last metro from Wuzhou Avenue (line 6), Exit 1 to Century Avenue (exchange stop to Puxi) is at 22:42. Live music ends at 21:30.
Line 2 (People’s Square > Jingan Temple > zhongshan park direction) service ends at 23:01.
Line 4 (Shanghai Railway Station > Zhongshan Park direction) service ends at 22:53.
Line 6 (Gangcheng Road港城路 > Oriental Sports Centre direction）service ends at 23:08
Line 9 (Xintiandi > Xujiahui direction) service ends at 22:33.
We are encouraging all festival attendees to bring their own water bottles. We’ll be providing free water on site!
Also, on the festival site, we will be selling drink tickets which you can exchange for both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinkies. We accept Wechat Pay and Alipay. Cash is okay, but digital payment methods are preferred!
There is no parking inside the venue. We encourage you to take public transport instead of driving, due to the very limited parking capacity around the venue. Plus think of how happy the Earth will be! If you’ve got little ones and really need to drive, your only option is to find a place near the venue.
There are two malls about 2 kilometers away, with limited parking available. There are no guarantees that there will be spaces and it’s a bit of a trek to the site, so again, please consider public transport.
Option 1: 2.3km Wanjia Commercial Plaza (万嘉商业广场)
1881 Dongjing Road, Gaoxing Town, Pudong New Area, near Jingao Road
Option 2:1.1km Senlan Shangdu (森兰商都)
628 Qifan Road, Pudong New Area, near Zhangyang Road
Ah, mystical merchants, welcome yee. If you’re out of gold stars and conch shells, your best bet is withdrawing at the closest Metro station Wuzhou Avenue (line 6). For other things (toiletries, sun cream etc.), we suggest you check out the malls nearby – see ‘Can I drive to the festival? Where can I park?’ for more details.
The festival site will be open from 11:00, and closes at 22:00.
With that said, we recommend you get here between 11:30 – 15:00 to get the most from the festival experience. Don’t forget, our stages are just the beginning of the journey: we’ll have sports, live creative exhibitions, amazing eats and more. Get out of the city and make a day of it!
Hmm well, anything’s possible if you put your mind to it! But we recommend you take the Metro to save some energy for dancing.
From Wuzhou Avenue station, simply head north up Zhang Yang North Road. You’ll cross over Wuzhou Avenue on the way. Just walk straight for about 200 metres and you’ll see the entrance on the right side of the road (there will be plenty of signage, and maybe a freaky monster).
The party ends when you want it to end! But the festival site will close at 21:30. That’s why we recommend you get in nice and early, to make the most of the day!
Well, isn’t that the question! Our freaky monsters might work a little magic to keep the sun out, but we recommend you prepare for a bit of a chill in the evening. If you’re new to Shanghai you’ll find September is lovely and warm during the day, but bring an extra layer for the evening, unless you’re up for a rage marathon.
Average Temperature: 24°C / 75°F

We’ve depended on a lot of support from the creative community here in Shanghai, so if we can do small things to return the favor, then all the better.
However, we do ask that you limit distribution and be thoughtful about it – please do not litter our site with flyers. Also be considerate toward our security if you choose to flyer before/after the event, and under no circumstances must you block entrances/exits.
At this point it is too late to get involved in Concrete & Grass 2018, but feel free to send info through for future editions.
If you fancy a cycle to the festival that is fine – save the environment! However there are no bike locking facilities available inside the site, so we recommend you take public transport and walk to the site (see “how do I get home?”) above. We might have some shared bike parking available, but please don’t block the entrance with a pile of Mobikes!
We’re all for sharing the love, but under no circumstances are you to use our IP (name / graphics or likeness) for promotional purposes without prior consent from our marketing team.
To sell merchandise, food and beverages or anything else you’ve got on offer at our site, you need to be a licensed vendor. If you choose to sell things outside the festival site, your products may get confiscated by our security / the police, and we’d hate that. So please do not, without prior consent, attempt to sell stuff (especially giant inflatable bananas).

At Concrete & Grass 2018, we want to make the world a better place one change at a time. Rubbish at music festivals have a big environmental impact. Most rubbish ends up in landfill which can create future pollution and health problems. Together, we can make the festival and the environment a cleaner, happier place.
This year we’d like to reduce the amount of disposable plastic on site. It takes one small action from you and it’s super easy – bring a drink bottle and your own food container. We are providing free drinking water on site and you can wash and reuse your containers.
Dispose of your waste correctly. Keep an eye out for signs and Waste Warriors informing you of how to sort your waste.
You are responsible for your rubbish. You make it, you dispose of it. You ship it in, you ship it out.
A Concrete Kid treats the festival site as if it is their own home. Together, we can keep this festival beautiful.
