Drunken Tiger. Yoonmirae.
Two living legends. Two Korean hip-hop titans, who between them pretty much invented the genre in their home country.
They’re coming to Concrete & Grass with acclaimed MC Bizzy, a crew of rappers and a live backing band. This is going to be a K-pop party to end all K-pop parties – a colourful, irresistible explosion of hip-hop goodness. We’re talking Gangnam-level earworms.
Drunken Tiger a.k.a Tiger JK bought hip-hop to mainstream Korean consciousness in the late 90s, through his potent homebrew of powerful, often explicit lyrics and the swagger of golden-age hiphop acts like the Wu Tang Clan.
“Mad cause I’m hot. You not. I’ll always finish up on top.”
Yoonmirae was a founding member of the pioneering Uptown hip-hop group, and is considered one of Korea’s finest women rappers. She’s also a chart-topping singer and R’n”B artist.
With MC Bizzy, they formed the bonafide supergroup MFBTY (“My Fans Are Better Than Yours”), whose 2015 album Wondaland has produced a string of wildly successful single well into 2016.
